When my husband was diagnosed with early onset dementia in his mid forties, it was a very difficult time for the family.   We had no idea what to expect or how to deal with the situation to get the best care we could for Andy.    Dawn gave us specific practical advice on what to do at each stage of this horrible disease.   Dawn organised carers each day and set them tasks to keep Andy stimulated.   When the time came Dawn sourced a suitable residential facility and helped Andy to acclimatise to his new surroundings.

Dawn’s expertise, empathy and care made a difficult situation bearable.   Dawn spent time with all the family members to make sure we were ok, she also put together a care plan for Andy and worked with the residential facility to oversee the proper implementation of the plan.   Dawn was always there if I just needed someone to talk to.  

Dawn has completed considerable research into best practice for dementia treatment and has developed case studies for residential options including talking to government bodies on the types of residential care facilities which work best.   Dawn is highly professional, knowledgeable and caring, I was so glad to have her by my side.

Dawn employed me as a carer for a friend of mine suffering from early onset dementia.  As someone with no prior experience in this role, she mentored and trained me for over a year.  This equipped and enabled me to be the best carer I could be for my friend.
